Exhibition Notes
"Westward, Ho! Let us rise with the sun, and be off to the land of the West"
Thus began the introduction by Sir William Wilde, ENT Surgeon and noted archaeologist, to his book, "Lough Corrib", published in 1867. The book examined the archaeology and folklore of the region encompassing Lough Corrib, Lough Mask and the surrounding countryside.
Now Kieran Tobin, also an ENT surgeon, has explored the Corrib Country and here presents his own interpretation of the region in his paintings. Kieran has a great love of nature and the countryside and has a particular interest in the landscape of the West. This is his fourth solo exhibition in the Kenny Galleries.
