Exhibition Notes
We live in an increasingly busy world. The shaping of the landscape that occurred gradually over thousands of years is changing rapidly as a result of development by mankind, either for residential or commercial purposes.
Kieran Tobin has a deep love of the countryside, preferably uncluttered, unpeopled and undeveloped. His relaxation from a demanding lifestyle is to get out to the country, meandering along lanes and pathways and further into the quiet delights of the landscape.
His paintings reflect his liking for quiet places, off the beaten track, tranquil and free of stress. As access to such locations diminishes Kieran records his feelings about them in his art.
Paintings may bring us back in our minds to special places or trigger memories of private moments. Kieran would wish viewers of his work to enter into the scene and derive a sense of peace and appreciation of the beauty of nature and the countryside. He hopes his paintings bring a stress-free zone into the homes and lives of busy people.
