Marie O'hEocha
Marie is a native of Salthill in Galway. She is married to Colm, with three children Dara, Conor and Colm.After graduating from University College Galway with an Arts Degree, Marie pursued a career in marketing and sales. After the birth of her second child, she turned her full attention to her children and oil painting. Marie joined the Paint Box in 1998 where she has been studing since under Sally Ann Beirne.
Marie has exhibited at many joint exhibitions over the years and in 2006 the Tynan Gallery in Portlaoise hosted her first solo exhibition.

Her paintings are bold and powerful; they demand our attention and are delivered to us with a sophistication that is only possible when the artist is intimately comfortable with her medium. Marie captures her subject and manipulates it skilfully and sensitively using form, colour and texture. She allows the image to grow as she paints, developing it to its full potential.
