Greens, blues and rustics are the predominant colours here and the theme is explored through both watercolours and oils. 'Conemara' also consists of intriguing architectural images on wood panels illustrating a variety of 'fireside welcomes'. In this exhibition the artist challenges our pre-conceived ideas of the wild and wonderful place that is Conemara. Water is a dominant theme which is portrayed by the drifting water-lilies (reminiscent of Monet), the bog pools and the lakes and loughs that abound throughout the region. The mystical past is evoked by the almost surreal images of standing stones and particularly by the painting entitled 'Undiscovered Landscape'.
