Ted Turton

Ted Turton was born in 1950 in Warrington, England. He studied at Leicester College of Art and then "Visual Communications" at Wolverhampton College of Art. He lived in Ireland from 1973/81 during which time he was co-founder of "In Dublin" magazine and a founder member of the Galway Art Festival in 1978.

He taught art and photography at Galway Regional Technical College before leaving Ireland to work with Footsbarn Travelling Theatre in the eighties. He travelled the world with them for six years. He works as an artist, graphic designer, photographer and theatre set designer. His poster designs for the Arts Festival, Footsbarn and Druid Theatre have become collector's items.
