Artist's Statement:
"Although I choose to paint in a concrete method, I don't protest to the simple copying and representing of reality. My desire is that the techniques within the painting create a strange and distant reality, a reality we can seem to have experienced before but never actually have.This concept takes into account the existence of our reality but not the reality of intuition. My works are inspired by the man made world around me and the media influences in television and magazines, a world I am fascinated by. Yet at the same time feel a sense of detachment with.
I hope my works can communicate the realistic, the fictitious and the nature of these thoughts, and how they can be so easily confused allowing people to take more account of the fictitious in our reality, it is during this process that the unique aesthetic is created."
