
J.J. Macken
James John Macken was born and reared in Longford Town. Art was included in his studies at St. Mel’s College, Longford and at St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra. In the 1960’s J J. studied at night at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin, where he now lives. In the 1970’s he studied oils under John Slevin, and watercolours under William G. Spencer.
J.J. Macken works only with watercolours now and has many solo shows since 1980:
