Yvonne King
Yvonne King is a native of Roundstone village in Connemara. Painting is a vital part of her life for many years and her work reflects Roundstone and the beautiful west of Ireland area. Using many different media – watercolour, acrylic, oil, pastel and ink – Yvonne likes to paint in series, e.g. The farm series of naïve watercolours, islands, colourful village houses, cottages, crows and flowers but always returns to the Connemara landscapes, seascapes and moonscapes.
In 2005, Yvonne King received a Diploma with merit in Painting and Drawing with the London Art College. She is a member of the Society for All Artists. Yvonne has taken classes with artists Kenneth Webb, Michael O’Dea and Brenda Mattson, amongst others. In 1996, Yvonne completed a course in Jewellery Craft and Design and later learnt the art of hand knotting freshwater pearls onto jewellers silk. She is registered with the Assay Office of Ireland at Dublin Castle. Yvonne lived in Boston for five years (travelling whilst there) and before that in London and Brighton. She still loves to travel, painting in Greece, France, Portugal and Spain. Yvonne King’s paintings can be found in private collections worldwide.
