Peter Deighan
Peter Deighan is principally a portrait painter, but like most Irishmen he has an affinity with horses. He spent the first 14 years of his life on a farm in Ireland where looking after animals, including working horses, was a second nature.Deighan's paintings hang in very prestigious collections throughout the world including the Vatican, Dr. and Mrs Vincent O'Brien, Mr and Mrs Robert Sangster, Dr and Mrs Michael Smurfit, Lord and Lady Tavistock, Mr and Mrs Charles J. Haughey, Captain and Mrs John Mac Donald-Buchanan, Sheikh Mohammed Al-Maktoum.
His portrait commissions include such celebrated names as Cardinal Hume, Charles J. Haughey, Frederick Forsyth, Steve Davis, Lester Piggott, Tommy Stack, Dermot Weld, Pat Eddery, Willy Carson and the first official portrait of the British Prime Minister, John Major.
His work also hangs regularly in the annual exhibitions of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and the Society of Equestrian Artists.
